Patterns

Aunt Anka is not very good at following directions.  She says she has a disability that prevents her from being able to read more than three lines.  I think she's just making it up.  But anyway, the end result is she has to make up her own ideas and I succeeded in making her write them down.  So here are Aunt Anka's patterns.

Cables and Bobbles

A simple hat (I try not to make things difficult for myself and others) with an elegant cable and bobble design.  Does require a cable needle, but all the twists are in the same direction.

Yarn suggestions: Margrite, Aurora 8, Merino VI, Waterlily

Falling Lace

Falling Lace Scarf
Beautiful and easy, two great words to describe this pattern.  The scarf is just the graphed pattern plus two end stitches.  Great for beginners or those long bus rides back home from work.  I printed out the graph, made it about the size of a business card and kept it in my wallet or pocket for a quick reference... then passed the card along to someone else who liked it.

Yarn suggestions: Wagtail, Sonnet, Margrite, Miracle

Llama Hat

This is a double knit hat (both sides are the 'right' side), but DON'T PANIC, it's really not that hard at all, I promise.  As long as you can follow a chart and count to two (I have problems sometimes and had to go back), you'll be fine, I swear!  Besides, I promise to always be here for you if you're stuck, just email me.  Go to the Photo Gallery to see two videos about how to do a double stitch increase and decrease.

REMEMBER: Because this is a double knit, the number of stitches per inch will be greater than that listed on the labels.

Yarn suggestions: Bazic Wool, Montera, Divine, Merino VI,  and Aurora 8

Lots of Llamas

Being jealous of my sister and her great new Llama hat, I needed to make one for myself (especially since my old hat decided to stay in Poland after a visit to my family).  This is basically a repeat of the Llama Hat minus the ear flaps.  After all, even if I did make it, I can't go out wearing the same hat as my little sister.

Yarn suggestions: Bazic Wool, Montera, Divine, Merino VI, and Aurora 8

Mobius Cowl

This great cowl is made with one skein of Wagtail 80/20 yarns.  A simple repeat makes this great for that long bus ride home or a knitting group.

Yarn suggestions: Wagtail, Melody, Supersock
